Chun Lo, samurai spirit illustration

Chun Lo is an illustrator and concept artist based in Florida interested by fantasy oriented illustrations and creatures design. His recent illustrations uses Kanji, japanese character, to describe and empowered the image.


Strife was inspired by traditional japanese mural art as well as tattoo artworks. Chun Lo wanted to emphasize living in harmony, an inner heaven (  the japanese character in the middle means “heaven”) despite the conflict that surrounds and of playing around with the concept of Yin and Yang.

This illustration below represents Astro the robot, a well known character in japanese manga culture, created by Osamu Tezuka in the 60’s, which is still the 11th most sold manga ever, and sold one of his comic strip in Paris in may 2018 for more than 300.000usd.
